I crochet a continuous pattern with a lightning motif, which are often depicted in illustrations, and using the characteristics of the knit material, it was attached on a wooden panel by stretching it, loosening it, and unraveling it. It was created using two contradictory processes, the process of crocheting it regularly and mechanically according to the figure, and then the process of arbitrarily attaching it to the panel.
The motif of this work is the military of a certain country that I saw on TV. They listened to speeches from the country’s political leaders and responded to chants. When the faces of each member of that army looked as if they were all assimilated, or just a geometric pattern, I thought I had to recreate it using my own crochet method. By knitting continuous facial patterns facing the same direction, I expressed the importance of being an individual.

“Lightning” made into three-dimensional objects by hardening with bond.
“I usually knit, so I chose mothproofing agents that I use on a daily basis as a motif. Expired mothproofing agents knitted with yarn. By making a hole in it, I expressed the presence by not drawing the insect itself. This work is knitted with a transparent monofilament along with the yarn, so that even if an insect eats the yarn, it will not collapse. By decorating this at home, I would be happy if you could prevent insects on your clothes and enjoy the aging of your work with insect holes.”
